Welcome

Welcome! You are welcome here.

If you’ve joined us for the first time, or are just checking us out online, we want you to know, that you are welcome at Emmanuel, where we seek to be Real People with Relevant Faith for Our Community.

Our purpose is to grow disciples of Jesus, knowing him, becoming like him, doing as he did. Jesus went around calling people to a new way of living; leaving behind the incessant struggle for existence that feels like a hamster on the wheel! He invited people to discover the abundant life that comes when we start to live according to the wisdom of God – the one who made us – and through patterning His ways, His rhythms, find true life, abundant life. A life that is found in a relationship with Him.

We seek to live this out in Community where all are welcome. Whether you’re connected to the ADF, or a parent with children at one of the numerous local schools, we invite you to join us for dinner at one of our regular meals orjoin us for worship on a Sunday morningand discover for yourself what being Real People with Relevant Faith for Our Community is all about.

Our Youth and Children’s ministries include Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, Playgroup, Youth Discipleship, Lego Club and Sunday School.

Ourworship services are on Sunday at 8am, 9:30and online. To check out our most recent services, you can stream these here.

Worship In Person

Worship is how we are transformed by God. In gathering together, we hear God speak to us through His Word. We listen to the voice of the Spirit in prayer. We see Christ in each other, as we are formed together to be more and more like Jesus each day. Worship is where we encounter God, and see his life-giving patterns, that are intrinsic to God's nature and being. God as a three-in-one, has in the very nature of the God head shown us what it means to give, to love, to serve and to show kindness and favour. When we learn how to live like that, and imitate that - through worship - then we are transformed .

Each of our Sunday gatherings are unique and inspired opportunities for us to do that - to be transformed as disciples of Jesus, that we might continue to grow disciples who themselves become disciple-makers.

Our 8am Sunday gathering is a traditional, liturgical style. We often will sing the great hymns of our tradition as accompanied by an organ.

Our 9.30am Sunday gathering is a contemporary service that exists for family worship and discipleship. We sing contemporary songs to exalt and praise Jesus, from a wide range of sources, are fairly informal and have a high degree of participation for people of all ages

Across both services, we strive to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, illuminating the text in a way that is relevant and contemporary.

Communion is shared on the first Sunday of each month. Sunday School is run during the school terms, during our families service.

Friends

During Term 3, individuals and small groups are invited to participate in revisiting the Spiritual Disciplines which we have covered from Practicing the way.

Each week, we will work through the material leading INTO the Sunday, which will pull together our reflection, and culminate in people sharing their experiences of how they have grown through these practices.

The study guide is available fordownload here. The date range for our practices is as follows.:

Our Purpose

Our vision is to be real people with relevant faith for our community. We do this by growing disciples who grow disciples - Disciples who Exalt, Explore, Embody, Engage. At Emmanuel we commonly refer to as "the four E's". You're invited to listen to our former Minister, Brian, preach through what this looks like for us as a faith community.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care

At Emmanuel, pastoral care is “for everyone by everyone” and this often happens within an Explore Group. For other Pastoral Care needs we have a dedicated team of volunteers headed by Bronwyn Kelly who can be contacted in the first instance on 3354 4961 pastoralcare@emmanueluca.org.au .

As part of our Pastoral Care we also ask members of our congregation to complete the Directory & Emergency Contact Details form.
