If you’re joining us for the first time or if you’re visiting, we hope you have a great time worshiping with us and being part of the Emmanuel family. Here’s some info that might be useful.
Emmanuel is a church that strives to live out its vision of being Real People with Relevant Faith for Our Community. We believe this is achieved through growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ, worshipping God together, being God's hands and feet in the local community, and sharing our faith with people in our lives.
We have a range of great ministries and community connections. All including Children are welcome in worship and we encourage their participation and service.
During the week we have a range of additional programs and activities for children, youth, and families including; [Boys’ Brigade](https://emmanueluca.org.au/ministries/emmanuel-boys-brigade), [Girls’ Brigade](https://emmanueluca.org.au/ministries/emmanuel-girls-brigade), [Playgroup](https://emmanueluca.org.au/ministries/emmanuel-playgroup), and [Youth Band](https://emmanueluca.org.au/ministries/youth-band).
We also have a range of adult [Explore Groups](https://emmanueluca.org.au/ministries/explore-groups)that meet to study the bible in smaller groups, and a range of adult interest groups including Tennis, Indoor Bowls, Craft, Working Bees, and Fellowship groups you can find more about these [here](https://emmanueluca.org.au/ministries/?page=2).
On Sundays we hold two Worship Services:
Our 8am Sunday service is a traditional style of worship which is quieter and more structured and includes the great hymns of our tradition.
Our 9.30am Sunday service is more contemporary and caters for families of all types. We use modern songs from a wide range of sources, have an informal style of worship, and have a high degree of participation in the leadership of the services. [Sunday School](https://emmanueluca.org.au/ministries/emmanuel-sunday-school) is run for children aged 3 and up within this service during school terms. We also provide [Sermon](https://emmanueluca.org.au/sermons)follow up and [Dig in at Home](https://emmanueluca.org.au/dig-in-at-home) materials to help resource and equip households to engage in faith practices at home and everyday life.
During both services, Communion is shared on the first Sunday of each month and the preaching is biblically based and relevant to people’s lives.
Whatever your style of worship, we can assure you that you will be very welcome here at Emmanuel. Our auditorium has Guest wi-fi, a retreat room for those who need it, and a hearing aid loop on the Laurel St side.

Worship is one of the central activities that we participate in as a church. Each of our Sunday services are unique and inspired opportunities for us to express our love for God. Through our worship services we provide opportunities for God to speak to us and through us to inspire us in our lives of discipleship.
Our 8am Sunday service is a traditional style of service. This is a quieter, more structured style of service where we sing the great hymns of our tradition. We share together in communion on the first Sunday of each month. (Our 8am service is currently on hold due to Covid but please watch this space we are looking into to this further in light of new Covid Regulations and seeking the best way to support our community).
Our 9.30am Sunday Worship is a contemporary service designed for young families. We use contemporary songs from a wide range of sources, have an informal style of worship and have a high degree of participation in the leadership of the worship services. The preaching is biblically based and is relevant to people’s lives. Communion is shared on the first Sunday of each month. [Sunday School](https://www.vinteract.com.au/client/manage_ministries/read/19) is run during the school terms, during this service.

Community Helping Hand is one way we can connect with our local Community by offering Help, using our Hands and Hearts. It seems incredible that in our community there are some people who don’t have homes but sleep in our parks, and that there are people who have to come here for food. What we offer is not fancy gourmet food, but basic things: baked beans, rice, noodles, milk, tea bags, toothpaste, etc. As well as offering bags of food, may we care for these people with our prayers, and be mindful of these people on the sidelines of our community.
We offer the food hamper service as an Emergency Relief Basis and the hours of service are as follows.
Monday and Thursday 9.30am - 1pm
At Emmanuel, pastoral care is “for everyone by everyone” and this often happens within an Explore Group. For other Pastoral Care needs we have a dedicated team of volunteers headed by Bronwyn Kelly who can be contacted in the first instance on 3354 4961 firstname.lastname@example.org .
As part of our Pastoral Care we also ask members of our congregation to complete the [Directory & Emergency Contact Details form](https://emmanueluca.elvanto.com.au/form/1655ab46-8195-478f-9ff7-d39b72b4788c).

Growing Disciples who Exalt, Explore, Embody, Engage
Throughout his life Jesus called people to follow him. The church continues to hear this call in the twenty-first century. Our purpose identifies our congregation as a disciple-making community and challenges each one of us to go deeper and more fully into a living and dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.
In 2 Corinthians Paul writes, “God loves a cheerful giver” and Emmanuel is a Christian community that consistently puts this into practice.
God has richly blessed us, and, over many years, we’ve generously invested in Mission together, within our community and abroad.
Regular giving through tithes and offerings gives us the finances to make this possible and helps us to live out our Vision of being
“Real People with Relevant Faith for Our Community.”
If you would like to financially invest in this community you can do this in one of the following ways:
Account Name: UCA – Emmanuel Uniting Church Enoggera
BSB: 334 040 Account Number: 553 839 228
Note: Please ensure that you include name and a brief reason for the payment.
Place cash into the offering bag during the service each week.
If you would like to order weekly envelopes please contact the [Church Office](https://emmanueluca.org.au/team/helen-smith)
During this uncertain time if you still want to contribute to the work of the church via cash please contact the church office to arrange a time that you can drop this off. Thank you for your continued support during this time.
