If you’re joining us for the first time or if you’re visiting, we hope you have a great time worshiping with us and being part of the Emmanuel family. Here’s some info that might be useful.
Emmanuel is contemporary church that has a passion for sharing a relevant faith in Jesus Christ with our local community. Our vision is “Real People with Relevant Faith for Our Community”. We have a great families ministry, great small groups and a great community vibe.
Children are welcome in worship and we encourage their participation. If you are looking for a church where kids are ‘seen and not heard’ we aren’t the church for you! Sunday School runs during School Terms.
Our auditorium has Guest wi-fi, a retreat room for parents, and a hearing aid loop on the carpark side.
To learn more about Emmanuel please feel free to contact the Office on 3355 2162 or email@example.com or by contacting one of our friendly Ministry Team members.
The office is open Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3pm.
Worship is one of the central activities that we participate in as a church. Each of our Sunday services are unique and inspired opportunities for us to express our love for God. Through our worship services we provide opportunities for God to speak to us and through us to inspire us in our lives of discipleship.
Our 8am Sunday service is a traditional style of service. This is a quieter, more structured style of service where we sing the great hymns of our tradition. We share together in communion on the first Sunday of each month. Morning tea is served after the service, we’d love to get to know you as we share something to eat and drink.
Our 9.30am Sunday service is a contemporary service designed for young families. We use contemporary songs from a wide range of sources, have an informal style of worship and have a high degree of participation in the leadership of the worship services. The preaching is biblically based and is relevant to people’s lives. Communion is shared on the first Sunday of each month. [Sunday School](https://www.vinteract.com.au/client/manage_ministries/read/19) is run during the school terms, during this service. Morning tea is served after the service, we’d love to get to know you as we share something to eat and drink.
Whatever your style of worship, we can assure you that you will be very welcome here at Emmanuel.
Community Helping Hand is one way we can connect with our local Community by offering Help, using our Hands and Hearts. It seems incredible that in our community there are some people who don’t have homes but sleep in our parks, and that there are people who have to come here for food. What we offer is not fancy gourmet food, but basic things: baked beans, rice, noodles, milk, tea bags, toothpaste, etc. As well as offering bags of food, may we care for these people with our prayers, and be mindful of these people on the sidelines of our community.
We offer the food hamper service as an Emergency Relief Basis and the hours of service are as follows.
Monday and Thursday 9.30am - 1pm
At Emmanuel, pastoral care is “for everyone by everyone” and this often happens within an Explore Group. For other Pastoral Care needs we have a dedicated team of volunteers headed by Bronwyn Kelly who can be contacted in the first instance on 3354 4961 firstname.lastname@example.org .
As part of our Pastoral Care we also ask members of our congregation to complete the Directory & Emergency Contact Details form.
Growing Disciples who Exalt, Explore, Embody, Engage
Throughout his life Jesus called people to follow him. The church continues to hear this call in the twenty-first century. Our purpose identifies our congregation as a disciple-making community and challenges each one of us to go deeper and more fully into a living and dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.
In 2 Corinthians Paul writes, “God loves a cheerful giver” and Emmanuel is a Christian community that consistently puts this into practice.
God has richly blessed us, and, over many years, we’ve generously invested in Mission together, within our community and abroad.
Regular giving through tithes and offerings gives us the finances to make this possible and helps us to live out our Vision of being
“Real People with Relevant Faith for Our Community.”
