What are some things you spend a lot of time worrying about?

Your highs and lows

Matthew 6:24-34

Worrying doesn’t add any amount of time to our life. In fact, it does the opposite—it takes away from the life we already have. God has promised that he will look after us. When we worry about things, we actually make life harder for ourselves and by worrying, we act like we don’t think God is going to take care of us.

·        Do you agree that worrying is acting like you don’t believe God’s promises?

Read verse 31. These are such reassuring words. They tell us again that God already knows what we need. It’s like a love letter from Heaven, reminding us that everyone needs these things, but we don’t have to worry about them, because He already knows we need them, and he will take care of them.

·        How does it feel to know that God cares about you and is going to take care of you?

Anytime that you are worried, you can talk to God and give him your worries so that you can worry less. God can give you peace, strength and courage which will help to stop the worry.

·        What can you do this week that will help remind you to not worry?

·        And what can you do if and when you do start to worry.

Pray for each other and your worries. Ask God to take your worry away and give you peace to be able to know that He is in control.

God, you are our loving Father and everything that we have comes from you.

Sorry for not always believing that you will take care of me, please forgive me.

Thank you for the things that you have given me in life.

Please help me not to worry about the things of this world, but to trust in you and your amazing power every day.

In Jesus Name, amen.
